I am Jay Harrison, and I work as a full-stack UX expert at Global Bay.

As a core member of the group, I have the responsibility of many things on my shoulders, from approving UI concepts of junior designers to offering input using my technical skills. I have a knack for problem-solving and collaborating with geniuses, a habit that I picked up during my time at Buff Motion as a social and motion designer.

At Global Bay, you will either find me leading meetings of creative design, Figma concepts, and technical implementation discussions, or huddled up in a corner, in my own element as I take out a little black sketchpad to sketch wireframes and user flows for later.

I love being bold and experimental with my UX concepts to ensure that not only is a website functional and responsive, but also centered around the customer. After all, a business must cater so much to its customers that they can’t help but think, “this product/service was made for me!”

Hence, I do not go to sleep until the developers understand my designs and vision. On weekends, I would connect with my freelance clients to tackle their projects as well, or work on a new article for Grafik Magazine on the latest design trends or UI/UX research, or create vector art on PeoplePerHour that I would be really proud of later on.

Once the freelance work is done, I review material for an upcoming “Fundamentals of UI/UX Design” course on Coursera. For those who don’t know, I am getting ready to step into a new role as an adjunct professor, because I believe that my years of experience will definitely shape me into an excellent and inspiring teacher, before I finally retire and spend the rest of my days with my wife, Andy, and our loving dog, Tyler.
